Sunny day at Cala di Negru

Oil on panel, 51×51 cm

Although it was only March, it felt like high summer when I was painting this stunning view at Cala di Negru, Cap Corse. Of course, I got a bad sunburn on my nose, since I was squinting for hours at the beautifully coloured waves and rocks that were so unlike any I had ever seen on Sardinia. It was a challenge and a pleasure to mix the colours of the unfamiliar greenish stones and the vibrant hues of the water.
