Still life with red fruit
Oil on panel, 61×53 cm
When the weather is so hot one has to hide in the shade to survive, it is time for fruit and lots of it. The refreshing watermelon, red currants and little wild strawberries from my back garden, are just a selection of my favourite summer fruits. These are painted under a laurel hedge and the sunlight peeping through the leaves made some beautiful warm spots appear on the fruits and the table cloth. I just had to capture that!
