Above Nonza

Oil on panel, 39×60 cm

Painting this seascape between the rocks of Nonza’s northern beach (Corsica) was very relaxing, hearing only the rippling sound of the water and the call of a lonely bird. There was almost no sun, except from some diffuse beams trying to get past the thick layer of clouds in the sky, which created a almost magical atmosphere. My husband an I had set up our easels not far apart and were suprised at the behaviour of a black redstart, who kept us company and even sat on my painting while I was painting it. A magic moment indeed!
